同志社大学は「同志社大学ビジョン2025」において「創造と共同による研究力の向上」をビジョンの一つとして掲げています。様々な学問領域で800名超の研究者が学術研究を進めている総合大学の特色を生かし、文理融合や領域横断による融合研究を創出する「All Doshisha Research Model」によって、社会課題の解決につながる研究成果の創出を目指します。

持続可能な開発目標（SDGs：Sustainable Development Goals）とは、2001 年に策定されたミレニアム開発目標（MDGs）の後継として、2015 年 9 月の国連サミットで加盟国の全会一致で採択された「持続可能な開発のための 2030 アジェンダ」に記載された、2030 年までに持続可能でよりよい世界を目指す国際目標です。SDGsは17 のゴール・169 のターゲットから構成され、地球上の「誰一人取り残さない（no one will be left behind）」ことを誓っています。

同志社大学のルーツとなる同志社英学校の創立者、新島襄は、「諸君ヨ、人一人ハ大切ナリ」という言葉を遺していますが、その本質は SDGs 取組の過程で、「誰一人取り残さない（no one will be left behind）」ことを誓っていることに通じます。 「同志社大学ビジョン2025」の実現に向けて All Doshisha Research Model 2025 を立ち上げ、2022 年度より 3 年間にわたりSDGs 達成のための研究課題を支援することによって、個々の研究を一層推進させるとともに、融合研究の創造を支援し、SDGs に取り組む「同志社」を国内外に発信します。

SDGs studies of Doshisha University - “Each and every person is precious.” -

Doshisha University has set forth “Advance creativity and collaboration in research” as one of its “Vision 2025”. As a university with more than 800 academic researchers in a variety of fields, Doshisha University aims to produce outcomes that lead to solving social issues through the “All Doshisha Research Model,” which creates cross-disciplinary research that combines the humanities, social sciences, engineering, and natural sciences.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the successor to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) established in 2001. They are international goals for a sustainable and better world by 2030, as stated in the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” adopted unanimously by the member states at the UN Summit in September 2015. The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets and pledge that “no one will be left behind” on the planet.
Joseph Hardy Neesima, the founder of Doshisha Academy, roots of Doshisha University, has spoken, “Each and every person is precious.” His phrase's essence is synonymous with the “No one will be left behind” pledge in the SDGs. Doshisha University has launched the All Doshisha Research Model 2025 to realize the “Vision 2025.” By supporting research projects to achieve the SDGs for three years from FY2022, we will further promote individual research, support the creation of cross-disciplinary research, and communicate Doshisha's commitment to the SDGs both domestically and internationally.
